Product Details:

A 1930s-inspired waistcoat crafted from new slub yarn cotton canvas, mud-dyed in Belafonte’s signature Doromole process. The vest is slightly cropped, designed to pair perfectly with high-waisted trousers.

Featuring twin hand pockets, a chest pocket, and a buckle-back detail, this Service Vest combines functionality with vintage-inspired style.

Pair it with the Hiback Buckle Back Trousers, Open Collar Shirt, and Peaked Lapel Jacket in matching fabric for a complete, coordinated look.

  • Made in Japan

  • Buckle-back detail

  • Twin hand pockets and chest pocket

  • Slub yarn cotton canvas

  • Mud-dyed Doromole fabric

Mud Dye Process:

Each vest is slightly unique due to the traditional mud-dyeing process, resulting in a beautiful, one-of-a-kind patina.

The fabric is first soaked in a natural mordant made from plant seeds to help fix the dye. Mud is then applied by hand to one side of the fabric, which is dried in the sun. Initially grey, the fabric is stored indoors, where it slowly develops into warm brown and rust tones over six months. Afterward, it is washed and sun-dried again.

Mud-dyed garments can be hand-washed in cold water with mild detergent with minimal color loss.

Model Info:
Martin is 186 cm / 80 kg and wears a size 42.
