We're thrilled to finally release the new "Volt Denim" from Belafonte Ragtime in a new Wardrobe 19 exclusive edition crafted it 15 oz jute/ cotton canvas fabric.
It has taken two years, but luckily we've succeeded in having Belafonte sourcing the fabric once again.
While traditional denim relies solely on cotton, the properties of jute gives this canvas fabric an entirely different character.
Known as one of the strongest natural fibers in the World, jute adds an exceptional dry handfeel and a distinctly rugged texture that can't be replicated from cotton alone!
The unique 40% jute / 60% cotton blend develops incredible texture, patina and character with wear. Jute creates a fabric that ages dramatically and tells a story unique to its owner.
Over time, high-wear areas may fade, fray and eventually require repair. Rather than a flaw, this is part of the appeal. Think of these jeans as a blank canvas, perfect for visible mending, patches and sashiko repairs that add even more character and individuality.

The “Volt” line leans into Belafonte’s Garage-inspired aesthetic, combining classic workwear DNA with subtle design variations, often seen in stitching details, silhouette balance, and hardware choices.
Expect a construction that prioritizes robust structure, clean lines, and vintage-correct detailing, while still feeling intentional and contemporary rather than purely reproduction-focused.
VOLT offers different details compared to the classic Garage options.
The tool pocket has been removed, and a new V backet pocket identity has been introduced. Like vintage denim from the period Belafonte still holds on to signature buckle back detailing and riveted reinforcement details.
Like much of Belafonte’s denim offering, the Volt Denim is produced in limited runs using high-quality Japanese mills, ensuring precision craftsmanship and individuality in each piece. Slight variations between garments reflect this small-batch, artisanal approach
