Born in 1850, C. C. Filson inherited his fathers pioneer spirit and love for the outdoors. In 1890 he moved from Nebraska to the small city of Seattle, Washington. Filson’s timing couldn’t have been better. By 1897, the Great Klondike Gold Rush was on, and thousands of fortune hunters were stampeding into Seattle, headed north. Armed with a strong work ethic, and several years of experience operating a small logger’s outfitting store, Filson felt it was time to do things his own way.
“Might As Well Have The Best” is an old Filson motto, which still work as a constantly reminder only to use best materials uptainable. Today Filson is world famous for their superior craftmansship, providing real men with rugged and durable menswear and bags.
